The Story:
In the glittering world of Paris showbiz, famed tenor Miguel Morano (Luis Mariano) balks at starring in a grand operetta tour to Mexico, haunted by the fiery wrath of his jilted lover Tornada, who vows revenge for his betrayal; enter desperate impresario Cartoni, who discovers humble Basque crooner Vincent Etchebar (also Luis Mariano), a dead ringer for the star, and recruits him for the daring impersonation alongside loyal pal Bilou (Bourvil).
Jetting to the City of Light, Vincent and Bilou moonlight as Eiffel Tower painters, where Vincent’s heart is stolen by vivacious flower seller Cri-Cri (Annie Cordy), but romance complicates as they embark for Mexico, plunging into peril when Tornada mistakes Vincent for her prey, sparking hilarious kidnappings—including a bungled grab of Bilou—and a tangled love affair with sultry co-star Eva Marchal.
