The Story:
In the bustling port of Toulon, two hapless naval rookies, Lafraise (Fernandel) and Plumard (Édouard Delmont), step off their ship Le Victorieux for a well-deserved leave, eager to explore the city’s charms and escape the rigors of military life.
But mischief ensues as the bumbling duo loses their way through Toulon’s winding streets, drawing the ire of patrolling officers and stumbling into a web of local intrigue involving a pompous mayor, his flirtatious wife (Colette Darfeuil)—secret lover to Lafraise’s own lieutenant—and a chaotic ceremony where they’re roped into delivering an official speech amid a lavish banquet of excess eating and drinking.
