The Story:
In the sun-drenched California beach scene of 1978, voluptuous new girl Anita (Shelly Horner) escapes her abusive father by ditching class for the sand, where she bridges the rival worlds of cocky Vanners led by stud Steve (John Laughlin) in their customized vans and the feisty Truckers commanded by Jill (Phoebe Schmidt) in colorful pickups.
After landing a job at the Boogie Bowl and attracting Steve’s aggressive pursuit—which inflames his jealous girlfriend Donna (Verkina Flower)—Anita becomes the target of Donna’s vicious frame-up that paints her as a police informant, sparking brutal clashes between the factions.
The breezy vansploitation romp plunges into shocking darkness with a chaotic mass-violence finale of betrayal and isolation, leaving Anita traumatized and utterly alone in this era-defining teen drama from director Bethel Buckalew.
