The Story:
In the shadowy suburbs of Paris, a ragtag gang of homeless young delinquents, led by the street-smart Maurice (Michel Roux), scrapes by on petty thefts and mischief until the cunning André (Jean-Pierre Mocky) joins their ranks, luring them toward a daring robbery of a mail truck that promises riches but spells certain doom.
Just as the heist looms, fate intervenes when the boys spot the despairing Lucienne (Dany Carrel) hurling herself into a canal; one dives in to save her, and they shelter the forsaken pregnant farm girl in their derelict hideout, igniting a fierce divide as compassionate hearts clash with André’s ruthless schemes to force her into vice for quick cash.
From the grit of urban underbelly to a heart-wrenching tale of redemption, witness these wayward souls unite against betrayal, trading crooked paths for the miracle of new life, as Maurice vows honest toil to cradle the child and forge a legacy of pride in this poignant drama of mercy’s transformative power.
