The Story:
In the sun-drenched vineyards of Provence, humble winegrower Noël Annequin (Fernandel), the black sheep of a prestigious bourgeois family, cherishes a simple life with his devoted wife Isabelle (Mireille Perrey), until her incurable agony from a ravaging disease shatters their world, leading her to plead for a merciful end that Noël, torn by love, ultimately grants with a fatal dose of morphine.
