The Story:
In the rugged hills of the Deep South, the fierce Hammer sisters—Dot (Susan Howard), Rose (Claudia Jennings), and Betty (Jennifer Billingley)—uncover a secret letter from their slain moonshiner father, Pap, revealing a hidden cache of priceless Prohibition-era whiskey that could secure their escape from poverty and peril, vowing to sell the stash themselves and defy the iron-fisted bootlegger Starkey (William Smith) who rules the illicit trade with ruthless monopoly.
Teaming up with the daring racecar driver and former moonshine runner J.B. Johnson (John Saxon), who defects from Starkey’s brutal employ out of sympathy for the sisters’ desperate stand, they ignite a powder keg of backroad chases and midnight runs; but as Starkey and his sadistic enforcer Sweetwater (Morgan Woodward) unleash escalating terror—blasting the family home, slaughtering their loyal dog, and coldly executing a meddling mechanic and treacherous Uncle Bill—the Hammer women fight back with grit and gasoline-fueled fury.
Brace for a high-octane showdown of roaring engines, blazing guns, and unyielding sisterly bonds in this pulse-pounding tale of revenge and redemption, where the open road promises freedom from the mean and ignorant hills, culminating in a nail-biting ambush, a sheriff’s timely justice, and a sunlit dash to California’s golden dreams!
