The Story:
In 1941 Yugoslavia under Nazi occupation, American-educated Marko [Rod Taylor] returns home and joins the National Liberation Army partisans, quickly rising as a tactical leader waging hit-and-run attacks.
His guerrilla cell enters a deadly chess match with conflicted Austrian officer Captain Kurt Kohler [Adam West] amid a love triangle involving Jewish resistor Anna Kleitz [Brioni Farrell], whom Kohler once saved and who now fights to free her grandfather.
Their cross-country battles explode into chaos at Hell River as partisans ambush a prisoner riverboat in a fiery climax that exposes the staggering human cost of resistance.
