The Story:
In the misty coastal village of Brittany, reclusive nobleman Julien de Kériadec (Fernand Ledoux), mockingly called “White Paws” for his immaculate spats, dwells in isolation within his decaying chateau, haunted by his aristocratic past and estranged from society.
His bitter half-brother Maurice (Paul Bernard), shunned as a bastard and burning with envy, hatches a vengeful scheme, manipulating the alluring Odette (Suzy Delair), mistress of a local saloon keeper, to infiltrate Julien’s world and shatter his fragile existence with seduction and deceit.
As forbidden desires clash in a web of jealousy and betrayal, this noir-tinged melodrama unfolds with shadowy intrigue and tragic inevitability, where love’s white paws conceal claws of destruction in the fog-shrouded night.
