The Story:
In the shadowed mists of 18th-century Transylvania, the hideous witch Bardella (Barbara Steele) is captured by vengeful villagers and drowned in a cursed lake, her dying curse echoing through time to haunt the present day where young British newlyweds Philip (Ian Ogilvy) and Veronica arrive for a honeymoon in the eerie village of Vaubrac.
When their car plunges into the fateful lake, Veronica is possessed by Bardella’s malevolent spirit, transforming her into a bloodthirsty she-beast who unleashes terror upon the superstitious townsfolk, including the sleazy innkeeper Ladislav (Mel Welles) and the enigmatic Count von Helsing (John Karlsen), descendant of the witch-hunter, who must confront the ancient evil.
