The Story:
In the fog-shrouded countryside of 19th-century England, a wave of gruesome murders terrorizes the land as handsome young men are found with throats savagely torn and bodies drained of blood; enter Inspector Quennell (Peter Cushing), a determined Scotland Yard sleuth, who uncovers a trail leading to the reclusive entomologist Dr. Carl Mallinger (Robert Flemyng) and his enigmatic daughter Clare (Wanda Ventham), just as explorer Frederick Britewell delivers exotic moth chrysalids from Africa that ignite unholy experiments.
As Quennell delves deeper, he stumbles upon Mallinger’s macabre laboratory secrets—a fiendish creation where Clare transforms into a monstrous Death’s-head moth, driven by bloodlust to claim victims, while the doctor’s desperate attempts to control his hybrid abomination unravel, forcing a deadly confrontation amid a cellar strewn with human bones and the entomologist’s tormented assistant.
Prepare for a chilling descent into scientific madness and primal horror, where man plays God with nature’s fury, culminating in a blaze of fiery retribution that engulfs the beast in flames—dare you witness the blood beast’s terror under the wings of midnight?
