The Story:
During World War I, mediocre vaudeville artist Barbisetti aka Primo Baffo (Renato Pozzetto) dodges military service while amusing Italian troops with satirical sketches and wartime ditties in the trenches.
Conflict arises when a shrewd swindler (Laura Antonelli) preys on a naive soldier, feigns love to exploit him, trades with the Austrians and suffers brutal violation amid the chaos of the front.
This bittersweet tragi-comedy (Aldo Maccione) echoes the ironic tone of The Great War, stripping away hopes and dreams in a satirical whirlwind of horror and forgotten identity.
