The Story:
In the rugged Colorado frontier of 1955, weary cowpoke Bill Mayhew (John Payne) finally cuts ties with his reckless younger brother Sam (Skip Homeier) after years of pulling him from one scrape to another, heading to Central City to start anew as a partner in John Sutton’s (Ray Middleton) ambitious stagecoach line to Denver, where he soon woos the boss’s spirited daughter Elizabeth (Mona Freeman).
But trouble rides in on Sam’s heels when the hot-headed sibling falls in with ruthless saloon kingpin Jim Donovan (Lee J. Cobb), who hires him as a gun-for-hire to sabotage Sutton’s venture and seize control of the town’s trade, escalating to blackmail when Donovan uncovers the brothers’ bond and the gold-laden inaugural coach run.
As bullets fly and loyalties shatter in this pulse-pounding Western showdown, witness Bill’s daring stand to safeguard the gold, disarm his own kin in a mercy that mends fractured blood, and forge a path to redemption amid the dusty trails of frontier justice and fraternal fire.
