The Story:
In the Eternal City of Rome, naive newlywed Wanda (Brunella Bovo), swept away by romantic fantasies, slips from her honeymoon hotel to seek the dashing “White Sheik” (Alberto Sordi), star of her beloved fotoromanzi, while her fastidious husband Ivan (Leopoldo Trieste) frets over their itinerary and impending family audience with a Vatican-connected uncle.
Wanda’s dream shatters at a seaside photo shoot where the Sheik reveals himself as a vain philanderer under his domineering wife’s thumb, attempting seduction that crumbles her illusions, as Ivan desperately fabricates excuses for her absence, his panic escalating into a nocturnal wander through Rome’s vibrant streets.
As night envelops the city of desires, a distraught Ivan encounters the compassionate prostitute Cabiria (Giulietta Masina), whose fiery solace hints at redemption amid the clash of illusion and reality in Federico Fellini’s sparkling satire on love, fame, and folly.
