The Story:
In the dead of night at a desolate motorway rest stop, rugged trucker Theo Gromberg (Marius Müller-Westernhagen) steps away for a moment, only to return and find his prized truck—and its illicit cargo—vanished into the darkness, leaving him unable to call the cops without exposing his shady dealings.
Teaming up with his steadfast Italian partner Enno Goldini (Guido Gagliardi) and hitching a ride with straight-laced Swiss med student Ines Röggeli (Claudia Demarmels), whose tiny Fiat sputters out mid-chase, the unlikely trio embarks on a frantic odyssey across Europe—from Liege to Milan, Genoa to Naples—dodging relentless debt collectors, brawling in trucker camps, and even amputating Theo’s infected finger in a desperate roadside surgery, all while chasing false leads and facing one calamity after another.
A rollicking road movie of unyielding optimism and chaotic misadventures, where bad luck meets unbreakable spirit, culminating in a hopeful sail toward Marseille, proving that against the rest of the world, Theo’s wild heart refuses to quit.
