The Story:
In the lush shadows of forgotten glory, Martin “Tiger” Powolny (Art Metrano), the once-mighty Tarzan of the silver screen, swings from his treetop lair in the wilds, echoing his legendary jungle cry to the indifferent winds—until a frantic telegram from Vienna lures him to the City of Waltzes with promises of cinematic resurrection by a wild-eyed director (Lukas Resetarits) desperate for funding, screenplay be damned.
But upon touchdown in this labyrinth of lights and lies, Tiger’s odyssey spirals into farce: a staged auto smash-up for insurance gold leaves him battered in a hospital bed, where the enigmatic ex-G-man Phillip Marboe (William Berger), straight out of a shadowy noir reel, shadows him for a ticket out of exile; mistaken for a black-market mogul, Tiger pockets a fortune amid bungled chases and underworld mix-ups, only to unravel that this maelstrom of mishaps is the “film” itself, barely reined by the director’s projectionist pater.
As illusions shatter and spotlights flicker like fireflies in a fever dream, Tiger roars farewell to Tinseltown’s treacheries, fleeing cops with the sly aid of hotel siren Gitti to forge his own jungle epic alongside Marboe—while the director discards him like yesterday’s script for secret agent Lemmy Caution (Eddie Constantine), in this riotous romp through cinema’s hall of mirrors, blending Tarzan triumphs, noir nights, and waltz-time whimsy into a grotesque gala of movie madness!
