The Story:
In the shadowed alleys of occupied Brussels, a band of daring Belgian patriots, led by the quick-witted editor Robert (Jean-Pierre Loriot), hatches a bold plan to strike at the heart of Nazi propaganda by forging a counterfeit edition of the collaborationist newspaper Le Soir, filled with hilarious and scathing parodies that expose the German occupiers and their local puppets for the fools they are.
As they scramble to locate a hidden printing press and weave a clandestine network for distribution, the group— including the resourceful mechanic Victor (Victor Guyau) and the sly distributor Marcel (Marcel Roels)—must dodge the relentless pursuit of the Gestapo, navigating betrayals, close calls, and the ever-present threat of capture in their high-stakes race against time.
Experience the thrill of resistance and the joy of rebellion in this uproarious true tale of wit over weaponry, where 5,000 copies flood the newsstands on November 9, 1943, turning the tide of morale with laughter that echoes through the fog of war— a vintage triumph of courage and comedy!
