The Story:
After four decades in America where he thrived as a renowned scientist and presidential advisor, Heinrich Merz (Gerd Böckmann) returns to Germany with his devoted wife Elisabeth (Jutta Speidel), only to rekindle a simmering rivalry with his old friend Franz (Peter Pasetti), a self-proclaimed lifelong underachiever envious of Heinrich’s successes.
When illness strikes Elisabeth, Heinrich hires the unassuming nurse Charlotte (Katy Karrenbauer), who blossoms into a captivating beauty, igniting a fierce competition between the two aging rivals as Charlotte unexpectedly takes up residence with Franz and playfully manipulates their affections, turning petty jabs into a battle for her heart.
As tensions erupt during a sun-drenched Spanish holiday amid the thunderous spectacle of bullfights mirroring their own clash of egos, this witty comedy-drama probes the timeless question: is it ever too late to conquer old demons or seize the spark of new romance?
