The Story:
In the remote American countryside of 1972, young women Kathy (Laurel Canyon) and Nancy (Candy Sweet) take a fateful shortcut home only for their car to break down, stranding them amid drug-crazed nomadic hillbillies and biker trash who kidnap and subject them to prolonged graphic abuse.
Escaping the camp they stumble into a murderous hippie death cult that captures the traumatized pair to break and execute them while a bumbling police investigation led by Nancy’s father crawls at a snail’s pace amid unrelated criminal subplots.
This shocksploitation nightmare from director Ray Williams ends on a bleak note as authorities arrive for a chaotic shootout freeing the severely traumatized victims without any cathartic revenge in an era of grim exploitation thrills.
