Anna Lee

Anna Lee (1913–2004, England/United States) was a British-American actress with a career spanning more than 60 years in film, theater, and television. She gained prominence in Hollywood through roles in John Ford’s How Green Was My Valley (1941) and other classics like The Sound of Music (1965), and later achieved lasting fame for her portrayal of matriarch Lila Quartermaine on the soap opera General Hospital from 1978 to 2004. Her work bridged British cinema, such as in Cavalcade (1933), with American productions, earning her a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1999.
