Jean Bouise (1929–1989, France) Jean Bouise was a French character actor renowned for his distinctive voice and presence in both French and international cinema. He rose to prominence in the 1970s with roles in politically charged films like Costa-Gavras’s *Z* (1969) and *The Day of the Jackal* (1973), as well as in Bertrand Tavernier’s *The Clockmaker* (1974) and *A Week’s Vacation* (1980). Bouise’s career spanned over 100 film and television credits, often portraying authoritative or enigmatic figures until his death from cancer.
