Roddy McDowall

Roddy McDowall (1928–1998, England/United States) was a British-born American actor, voice artist, photographer, and film director. He began his career as a child actor in films such as How Green Was My Valley (1941) and Lassie Come Home (1943), later gaining prominence for portraying Cornelius in the Planet of the Apes franchise (1968–1972) and voicing characters in numerous animated projects. Over his six-decade career, McDowall appeared in over 270 film and television roles, earning two Emmy Awards and contributing significantly to Hollywood’s golden age and science fiction genres.
