William Conrad

William Conrad (1920–1994, United States) William Conrad was an American actor, producer, and director best known for his resonant voice and authoritative screen presence in radio, film, and television. He rose to prominence in the 1940s through radio dramas like “Escape” and “Suspense,” and later narrated and voiced characters such as Marshall Matt Dillon in the radio version of “Gunsmoke” and the titular moose in “The Adventures of Rocky and Bullwinkle.” Conrad transitioned to television stardom in the 1970s with lead roles in the detective series “Cannon” and “Nero Wolfe,” while also appearing in films including “The Killers” (1946) and “Palm Springs Weekend” (1963).
