Elliot Silverstein

Elliot Silverstein (1927–2022, United States) was an American film and television director. He achieved breakthrough success with his debut feature Cat Ballou (1965), a Western comedy that earned him a Golden Globe Award for Best Director and an Academy Award for its star Lee Marvin. Silverstein later directed acclaimed works including the adventure film A Man Called Horse (1970) and episodes of television series such as The Twilight Zone and Baretta, contributing to both cinema and early TV storytelling.
