Gérard Oury

Gérard Oury (1919–2006, France) was a French film director, screenwriter, and actor. He gained prominence in the 1960s and 1970s for directing popular comedies such as La Grande Vadrouille (1966), which became one of the highest-grossing French films of all time, and The Mad Adventures of “Rabbi” Jacob (1973). His work often featured ensemble casts and humorous takes on historical or social themes, solidifying his legacy in French cinema.
