Hal Roach

Hal Roach (1892–1992, United States) was an American film producer, director, and screenwriter. He founded Hal Roach Studios in 1914 and became renowned for producing silent comedy shorts and features, including the iconic series Our Gang (also known as The Little Rascals) and the duo Laurel and Hardy. Roach’s innovations in comedy filmmaking earned him two Academy Awards for production and a lasting legacy as a pioneer of American slapstick cinema.
