Henri Verneuil

Henri Verneuil (1920–2002, Turkey/France) was a French film director, screenwriter, and actor of Armenian descent. He directed more than 30 feature films from the 1940s to the 1980s, achieving commercial success with comedies like *The Sheep Has Five Legs* (1954) and thrillers such as *The Sicilian Clan* (1969). Verneuil is regarded as one of the most prolific and popular directors in post-war French cinema, often collaborating with stars like Jean Gabin, Fernandel, and Alain Delon.
