Jean Boyer (1901–1978, France) Jean Boyer was a French film director and screenwriter who helmed over 40 feature films from the 1930s through the 1960s. Specializing in light-hearted comedies, musicals, and adaptations of popular French plays, he gained prominence for works like the “Toto” series starring Raimu and films such as *Le Roi des Champs-Élysées* (1934) and *En cas de malheur* (1958). Boyer’s contributions helped sustain the tradition of boulevard theater in cinema during the interwar and post-World War II eras.
