Jimmy Wang Yu

Jimmy Wang Yu (1944–Present, China) was a Taiwanese-Hong Kong martial arts actor, director, and producer. He rose to stardom in the 1960s as a leading man in Shaw Brothers Studio’s wuxia films, including the iconic “The One-Armed Swordsman” (1967), and later transitioned to directing action movies such as “Bloodman” (1986). Wang Yu is recognized for popularizing the one-armed swordsman archetype and influencing the martial arts genre in Hong Kong cinema.
