Montgomery Tully

Montgomery Tully (1904–1988, Ireland/United Kingdom) was an Irish-born British film director and screenwriter. He began his career in the 1930s as a writer and assistant director before helming over 50 low-budget features, primarily crime thrillers and horror films such as *The Terror of the Tongs* (1961) and *The House of the Living Dead* (1973), often for studios like Hammer and Merton Park. Tully’s work exemplified the British B-movie tradition, contributing to the post-war second-feature market with efficient, genre-driven productions.
