William Witney

William Witney (1915–2002, United States) was an American film and television director renowned for his work on action serials during the 1930s and 1940s at Republic Pictures. He co-directed over 20 serials, including classics like *Adventures of Captain Marvel* (1941) and *The Crimson Ghost* (1946), which established him as a master of fast-paced, stunt-filled cliffhangers. Later in his career, Witney transitioned to feature films and television episodes, contributing to Westerns and adventure genres until his retirement in the 1970s.
