The Story:
In feudal Japan the wandering blind masseur and master swordsman Zatoichi (Shintaro Katsu) seeks shelter in a remote village that hides a vicious band of fugitives and finds refuge with the kindly elderly doctor (Takashi Shimura) and his devoted daughter (Kayao Mikimoto).
When the ruthless outlaws tighten their grip on the terrified villagers Zatoichi is drawn into a deadly clash that forces him to unsheathe his cane sword against their brutal leader and his savage gang.
Directed by Kimiyoshi Yasuda this 1968 chambara classic pulses with raw tension and lightning-fast blade work as the iconic wanderer faces his most merciless foes in a storm of blood and retribution.
