Lee J. Cobb

Lee J. Cobb (1911–1976, United States) was an American actor celebrated for his intense, character-driven performances in film, theater, and television. He received an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor as the corrupt union boss Johnny Friendly in On the Waterfront (1954) and delivered a memorable portrayal of the prejudiced Juror #3 in 12 Angry Men (1957). Cobb’s prolific career also included roles in Golden Boy on Broadway, the biblical epic The Ten Commandments (1956), and his final film appearance as Lt. Kinderman in The Exorcist (1973).
