Gilles Grangier

Gilles Grangier (1911–1996, France) was a French film director and screenwriter. Active from the 1940s to the 1980s, he helmed over 50 features, frequently in crime, comedy, and drama genres, and is best known for his collaborations with actor Jean Gabin in films such as *Maigret tend un piège* (1958) and *Le Tueur* (1971). Grangier’s work contributed to the post-war French cinema landscape, blending entertainment with social commentary.
