The Story:
In the picturesque Basque Country, young Vincent Etchebar (Luis Mariano), blessed with a golden voice, is discovered by impresario Cartoni and heads to Paris with his steadfast friend Bilou (Bourvil), where they toil as painters on the Eiffel Tower and encounter the vivacious florist Cri-Cri (Annie Cordy); meanwhile, the renowned tenor Miguel Morano (Luis Mariano) balks at a Mexican operetta contract, fearing his jilted fiancée Tornada, prompting Cartoni to enlist Vincent as his uncanny double for the tour.
As Vincent steps into the spotlight opposite the enchanting Eva Marchal, who swiftly succumbs to his charms during intimate rehearsals, sparks fly and jealousy ignites in Cri-Cri’s heart; the deception spirals into peril in Mexico, where Tornada, thirsting for revenge or matrimony, abducts Bilou in mistake for Vincent and later seizes the real impostor at her ranch, plotting a forced wedding amid the troupe’s chaotic escapades.
