The Story:
In 1968’s Samaritan Zatoichi directed by Kenji Misumi, the iconic blind swordsman Zatoichi (Shintaro Katsu) wanders into a yakuza scheme and is hired to eliminate a young debtor.
After the kill, the man’s sister Osode (Yoshiko Mita) arrives with payment earned by prostituting herself only to uncover a plot by rogue samurai Kashiwazaki (Makoto Sato) to enslave her.
With guilt and blades clashing in this tense chanbara era tale of betrayal and reluctant heroism, Zatoichi must fight for justice in a world of shadows.
